Rebecca Lawson said… Hi Neil! Are you new to MSP2?
Welcome! There is lots here that should be able to help you.
Please feel free to ask if you are looking for something particular. We'll try to help you find it.
Are you interested in doing collaboration with your students? Davilla Riddle (on Maui) and I are trying to get a group together to create a collaboration and do a project. We are inviting all interested folks to contribute to the project. We want to collaborate to create it.
I wonder how it would work for your virtual school students to collaborate online?
Again .. welcome! Let me know if there is some way I can help you.

Sarita Pillai said… Hi Neil,
Welcome to the MSP2 NING network and community! So glad you've joined us.
Have you had a chance to explore the site, yet? You'll find lesson ideas, digital resources for classroom use, and connections to current news items. Look at the left side of the Main page and you'll find the MSP2 Resources box with Math and Science Resource Guides where we have sifted and sorted and contextualized resources on topics important to middle school math and science teachers. We hope that members of the network (like you) will help us add content to these pages. On the right side of the Main page we have our two project blogs - Resources for Math and Science and Connecting News. We also have a great Free technology for Teachers blog.
We have several webinars every month on a variety of topics - curricular topics, teaching strategies and technology tools for use in the classroom to name just a few. You can get to the archived recordings of those by clicking on the Webinar Archive link (http://wiki.nsdl.org/index.php/MiddleSchoolPortal/Webinar_Archive). You can also see all our upcoming events by clicking on the Events tab. We also have a book club that meets periodically, check out the Book Club Group for more information on that.
We also just added resources for youth - a series of virtual learning experiences for students. Check out the SMARTR site for students from the MSP2 home page or by going to http://smartr.edc.org.
Please send any ideas or feedback you have our way, your thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
