This Webinar is designed to help educators understand and use all of the features of the Science Literacy Maps, an online concept browsing interface for the National Science Digital Library (NSDL). These online maps provide easy access to the NSDL's wide array of free education resources for teaching K-12 science and offer insights on how students are likely to make progress—or have problems—in their learning from grade to grade.
Based on AAAS's popular Atlas of Science Literacy, the NSDL Science Literacy Maps can also help educators understand relationships among important ideas and how to keep the "big picture" of science learning in mind as they select and use resources in the NSDL. Practical applications include instructional planning and sequencing, as well as curriculum materials selection.
